Having trouble using web-based e-mail on your Windows XP computer?  Read on!

If you are experiencing difficulty using the web-based e-mail system on your Windows XP computer, it may be that the built-in pop-up blocker included with Service Pack 2 for Windows XP is blocking certain functions.  For example, if you open a message to read it, it may open fine; when you try and reply to it or forward it to someone else, however, your window may just disappear.  You can change the settings in the built-in pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups for the web-based e-mail site so that this problem does not occur on your PC.*

Step 1: Bring up the pop-up blocker settings screen.

Access the Pop-up Blocker settings to add the web-based e-mail site.

In Internet Explorer, click on the "Tools" menu and select "Pop-up Blocker" and choose the "Pop-up Blocker Settings..." option.

Step 2: Type in the address of the e-mail server and add it to the list of sites allowed to have pop-ups.

Adding the web-based e-mail server's address to the list.

Type in 204.252.61.10 in the "Address of Web site to allow:" field and click the "Add" button.  Once that is done, you'll see the "Allowed sites:" list change to reflect that.  Click "Close" when done.

Step 3: Test this by opening your web-based e-mail and trying to reply or forward a message.

Test the new setting by trying to reply or forward mail from within web-based e-mail.

Logon to the web-based e-mail here and open a message.  Click either the far-left Reply button or the Forward button to see if the message disappears or if it pops up with either a reply or forward screen.  If it pops up with another screen, you have successfully changed your settings to allow web-based e-mail to function correctly - congratulations!  If not, you may have another pop-up blocker or you may be using a different web browser.  Consult with the documentation for your pop-up blocker software to find out how to allow pop-ups for this particular site.
